Day 1:  Arrive In Winnipeg

Arrive any time today to Winnipeg and check in to your Winnipeg Airport area hotel. Join the evening meet & greet at the hotel.

Day 2:  Winnipeg - Churchill - Tundra Buggy® Adventure

You have an early morning flight to Churchill today. On arrival you will be transferred to the Tundra Buggy® launch site where you board one of the Tundra Buggy® vehicles and set off to explore in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Our knowledgeable Tundra Buggy driver will navigate throughout the WMA in search of polar bears and other arctic wildlife. A delicious lunch will be served right out on the tundra. You will return to the town of Churchill in time to do a bit of exploring, checking out the eclectic mix of shops along the main street and to have dinner at one of the local restaurants.

These Churchill hotel-based tours include two full-day Tundra Buggy® safaris in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, where polar bears hang out and await the freezing of the Hudson Bay. Guests will spend plenty of time watching these majestic mammals and other Arctic wildlife in their natural environment. There is also ample time to discover Churchill’s personality by exploring unique shops, family-run restaurants boasting delicious regional cuisine, and cultural museums that portray the historical importance of the area.

Day 3: Dog sledding and Itsanitaq Museum

Today you’ll be treated to an exciting dog-sled ride and have the chance to meet some of these energetic sled dogs, as well as hearing about their history and importance to the local people. Following your dog sledding you will enjoy an Interpretive program at the fascinating Itsanitaq Museum.

Day 4: Tundra Buggy® day trip

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Tundra Buggy® launch site for your second day out on the tundra, looking for bears. A delicious lunch will be served right out on the tundra. In the evening you will have time to have dinner and perhaps do a little last minute shopping before being transferred to the airport for your flight back to Winnipeg. Overnight near the Winnipeg airport.

Day 5: Heading Home

You may depart Winnipeg at your leisure today or choose to add on some days to explore Manitoba’s capital city. We would be happy to quote you to extend your stay and recommend some local sightseeing options.

Churchill Town and Tundra VIA Rail Enthusiast, 8 days/7 nights 
For those who have a bit more time and love train journeys, consider the Churchill Town and Tundra VIA Rail Enthusiast tour, which is led by an Interpretive Guide and includes a two-night train journey that winds through Manitoba and Saskatchewan to Churchill; a town only accessible by train or plane. There guests will spend time getting to know the wondrous charm of the town of Churchill, while also spending plenty of time on the tundra watching majestic polar bears, and other arctic wildlife, in their natural habitat. Departures planned for early October-early November 2021 and 2022.
