We were founded in Winnipeg in 1978 to plan the kind of travel our founders wanted for themselves — carefully researched, personally guided, and unmistakably Canadian in spirit.
Our story
A travel company built on first-hand experience
Great Canadian Travel Group has been designing trips out of Winnipeg since 1978. What began as a small agency focused on Canada's north grew — one advisor at a time — into a team that today plans travel across every continent.
We're proudly Canadian-owned, and our advisors live in the same cities as many of our travellers. When you call, you're speaking to someone who has been where you're going — or knows the person on our team who has.
We're best known for the trips that need a specialist: polar bears and belugas in Churchill, expedition cruises in Greenland, safaris across East and Southern Africa, and northern-lights journeys through Iceland and Scandinavia. But most of what we plan is entirely custom.
