Namibia

Africa's hidden gem — dunes, salt pans, desert wildlife and empty roads.

Namibia is referred to as Africa's hidden gem. Largely desert — 80% of the country — it is a place of remoteness, towering sand dunes at Sossusvlei, stark vastness and breathtaking landscapes along the Skeleton Coast, the endless salt pans of Etosha, and wildlife that includes desert-adapted species.

Its cultures are just as varied: the Ovambo, Himba, Damara, the Herero (known for their Victorian dresses), the Nama, and the San, the oldest indigenous hunter-gatherers. And after a long drive to the coastal city of Swakopmund, apple strudel and coffee await you at Café Anton.
