About Shauna
I went to school for Tourism and Marketing, and I always knew that I wanted to work in this industry. It is not always easy, but it's always different!
I don't think that we are meant to stay in one place — the world is vast and is waiting to be explored.
While I like to explore anywhere and everywhere, I do tend to prefer to travel to cold destinations: Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Northern Europe. Basically, if it's cold, I love it!
How I travel
I like to get a little bit off the beaten path, and I do enjoy a little bit of luxury! I really love unique properties and experiences, and I also love expedition cruising.

What I love most
Travel helps us to understand each other and learn more about the people and environment around us. It also challenges us to step outside of our comfort zone and challenge ourselves.
Places I've been
A memorable journey — Svalbard, Norway, 2025
This expedition took us to within 500 km of the North Pole, through thick sea ice and even thicker fog. We spent the afternoon watching a young female polar bear traverse the ice and come across a dead sperm whale, which it then feasted upon. An absolutely incredible sight to see.
We spent 10 days cruising around Spitsbergen and to the Norwegian military island of Jan Mayen. We saw dozens of polar bears, walrus and reindeer. We didn't see another ship for days, and felt truly alone in the world.
Expedition cruising is a great way to experience adventure at your own pace. You can do a really hard, challenging hike if you want; if not, you can sit on a beach and watch the whales play.
What I learned: that expedition cruising is the best way to see some of the most remote parts of our world. Some places can only be reached from the water, and we can easily visit while leaving no trace.

“Walk the boardwalk to the icefjord late in the evening. The light at 10pm in July does things no photograph gets close to.”
